Our San Diego trip has come to an end and now I am here to journal it all! It was an absolute pleasure to go to the west coast and I appreciate all of your support that got us there. Thank you. Thursday was a very long day for me. I woke up in Hoboken at my cousins apartment. Having a 6:30am flight, I had to wake up at 4:00 to shower, eat, and head off to the airport. My cousin, Kevin, was kind enough to drive me to Newark airport. As I stepped outside the apartment the weather was nasty. Rain drizzling, while the air was wet cold. I run to my cousins car and slam the door shut. On our way to the airport we talked about What’s Cooking and he really admired the idea and what we were doing. Catching up with cousins can be so fun! Once at the airport he dropped me off and we said our goodbyes. I made my way through security and waited at the gate. I then called my mom and told her everything went well. From there, I loaded up on snacks and drinks for my lengthy trip. I flew from Newark to Las Vegas, this took approximately 4 and ½ hours. Heading towards Vegas I saw the Nevada desert stretch far out below me. It was insane, vast amounts of sand spread across the horizon. Bare mountains and low valleys created the jagged terrain. I even got a glimpse of the Grand Canyon from the plane. When we arrived at Vegas I realized that Las Vegas is literally just a town in the desert. There is nothing outside of the city, just dry desert. I had a four hour layover in Vegas where I explored a bit and ate at a nice restaurant. Once back at the airport, I boarded my flight to San Diego. It was only an hour from Vegas so I was feeling better about going onto the plane. After a quick landing I grabbed by bag and exited the airport. The warm San Diego air felt so relieving. I enjoyed being outside so much I just decided to stay there for a couple of minutes. Overall, I had had an eleven hour trip. It was brutal at times but being in San Diego, sitting on that bench made it all worth it. Soon my friend Kai would pick me up and we’d spend the night together hanging out and just relaxing. Thursday was the beginning of this wonderful weekend.
